Expiration Dates by Rebecca Searle

So… what did we all think of this one? I’m not going to lie, I honestly wasn’t a fan.

I think partly I had very expectations based on her previous book and how much I enjoyed it, which always sets the bar pretty high for any future work. But really, I struggled to connect with Daphne and all the chopping and changing between timelines didn’t really work for me.

I thought the author made a great point about the nature of our relationships and how some are meant to last more than others, but I really wasn’t prepared for the big medical twist partway through and I found that quite jarring and coming totally out of left field. That partly serves me right for not reading any of the content warnings on Storygraph but in fairness I very rarely do.
