I knew I’d read this article and was totally convinced. The only problem was the language, it is in Japanese but I love it, both the design and the colours. I think I’d better try. Oh thank you Louise.

hahaha... I hear ya. I did home ec back in the day. Sewing was pretty rigid in the 80's with black tailored jackets & the like. I changed that up & did a fancy 80's style jacket instead. I didn't go great in marks at the end. I wasn't the teachers favourite. Only to find myself later on working in a craft shop, selling all the needlework art supplies you could ever imagine - & being able to do most of them too!

Constant battle encouraging makers to know they are creative. If you made it you are creative! You have to know what order/method/how to read a pattern/etc etc... & if you figured that out & you have something at the end, YOU ARE CREATIVE!

I truly believe that if you can say "I wonder what happens if ..." then you can consider yourself creative. I'm currently knitting a sock from a pattern that has 40,000+ projects on Ravelry. And I can guarantee that mine is unique.

I’ve always thought that there are different ways to be creative. I feel like there is a space for creativity in everything. Science and the natural world is just as creative as the world of painting and drawing. I’ve been seeing someone doing fractal crochet on facebook and it’s very cool!

Oh wow, yes. Fractal crochet is amazing and some of the most brilliant scientists are incredibly creative.
