This is a much shorter post than I intended to write today - Covid has been an unwelcome house guest and I’m deliberately taking it easy so as to make sure I can show it the door as soon as possible.
I did just want to let you know that there is still time to sign up to my Summer of Books and Yarn challenge, which starts on Monday 24 July. One advantage of being stuck at home is that I’ve had plenty of time to plan what I’m going to be reading. What I’m knitting though? - not so much.
As for the rest of my week? I’ve mostly been knitting and watching Netflix. Luckily I had a lovely hand wound ball of self stripe yarn from Giddy Knits to keep me company. If there is anything more fun than a self stripe, toe-up sock I don’t want to know about it. They always seem to zip by so fast though - the anticipation of getting to the next colour change being ever present.
My other project of choice has been a resurrected long term WIP - a giant granny square crochet blanket I was making as a gift for a pink-loving family member. Unusually for me it seems to be bang on trend with the recent craze for all things Barbie-related.
Warning - you may want to don sunglasses before scrolling any further. It really is that bright and definitely out of my normal colour comfort zone. It is proving to be remarkably cheering though so perhaps there’s something in all of this pink crazed-enthusiasm after all.
Wishing you a happy and germ-free weekend.
Hopefully I will be resuming my normal posting next week.
Get better soon! And the blanket is very cheerful indeed.
Wishing you a weekend that includes a speedy recovery!!
I ADORE your pink giant Granny! I stopped crocheting a few years back as I found it was more strenuous on my hands than knitting was... but now seeing this giant pink granny I might have to make one!!!
