My house is a chaotic mess of boxes and the washing machine is threatening to go on strike as we get ready to take our eldest son to Uni, so this week by necessity this is a short and sweet catch up.
Quality over quantity, if you will.
Thinking of autumn knits I thought I’d share a few woolly things that have caught my eye.
Things to add to my queue, aka The List of Knitterly Ambitions that seems to grow ever longer.
Also, don’t forget that today is the last day of my autumn sale on selected patterns - just tap the link below for more information.
Helical knitting - yes I know that I’m horribly late to the party but this seems like something I should have tried a long time ago. I love socks, I love stashbusting, I love stripes. It seems like a natural fit. I found this knitting pattern on Etsy and it really appealed to me. Hopefully helical socks will be jumping onto my needles in the next few weeks. I certainly have enough leftover sock yarn for it.
Kismet sweater pattern by Rachel of Unwind Knitwear - this one will definitely be on my needles soon. I bought the yarn for it a while ago (a sweater pack from Eden Cottage yarns) and if I want to be able to wear it before spring I really need to get cracking.
Cloud Cowl pattern by Victoria Magnus of Eden Cottage Yarns. This is a lovely crochet pattern available as a free download. It seems really adaptable to whatever yarn you have to hand, and nice and simple for a relative crochet newbie like myself.
Geogradient MKAL by Stephen West - I’m not generally a fan of mystery KALs (see my previous post) instead I tend to treat them as a spectator sport. I love seeing everyone’s yarn choices, I love the excitement and enthusiasm and I often find some new to me indie dyers in the process. While I don’t always have the time, inclination - or let’s be frank - finances to take part in them I love to follow along vicariously.
Knitted pumpkins - I mentioned them last week but seriously. I can’t get enough of these cute little chunks. Whether I actually get around to knitting them is a totally different matter.

Pumpkin Hat by The Homesteady
Spicy Knit Pumpkin by Red Heart Yarn
Oh, and before I forget. As our September reading of ‘The Trouble with Goats and Sheep’ draws to an end, the Everyday Knitter book club will be voting on our October book. I’ll be putting a poll up for members of my paid community this weekend.
Right, the washing machine is beeping at me and I need to go and finalise packing - must remember to add a large pack of tissues. I think I’ll need them for the journey home.
Wishing you a lovely and knitting-filled weekend.
OMG I thought helical knitting was something else entirely. Now I’m curious to try it out.
