This is the first working week of 2025 and convention dictates we are all flinging ourselves headlong into the New Year with vim and vigour.
We are ‘circling back around’, filling out our planners with enthusiasm and tackling that to-do list with a vengeance….. Maybe not 🤣
Obviously there are things that need to be done. Whatever it takes to keep your plates spinning needs to happen. Bills need to be paid, meals need to be cooked.
But for me, everything else is still on a bit of a hiatus. I’m not quite ready to leave my cosy metaphorical cocoon quite yet. I’m saying no to everything I can possible say no to and choosing to curl up with a book rather than spend much time online.
One thing I have really enjoyed over the festive period is reducing my screen time (on Threads and Instagram) and I find that I have no great desire to spend too much time there - getting dragged into whatever the current discourse of the day is.
I want to prolong this low-key, chilled out feeling for as long as I possibly can. I have really enjoyed spending more time with myself, listening to my own voice rather than the voices of others. And I have to say that I have been finding that my sleep and overall mental state has definitely improved. My butterfly brain has definitely dialled down a notch.
With that in mind I have decided to keep things low-key here this week too. I don’t know about you but my inbox is full of challenges, resolutions and there just seems to be an awful lot of distracting noise.
Next week (Mon 13) I’ll be back here with my regular content schedule but for this week I’d like to just tip toe in, mention a few things I have been really enjoying - for you to take or leave as you need - and then pop back into your inboxes next week with some Big Plans for 2025.
