If you are of a certain age like me, you might remember a series of earnest anti-drug campaigns aimed at us as teenagers with the simple but still effective strapline of ‘Just say no!’
These days though, the phrase to ‘just say no’ reminds me more and more that it’s OK to say no obligations, invitations or general societal expectations. That it’s OK to risk disappointing people or to choose the option that’s best for you rather than someone else.
