The November read for the Everyday Knitter book club is a fabulous one for this time of year. The Familiars by Stacey Halls is a dark tale of witchcraft and real women, set in the shadow of Pendle Hill in Lancashire where I grew up.
Stories of the Pendle Witches abounded when I was a child and it was an important part of our heritage. This story, beautifully written by Stacey Halls brings these strong female characters to life and is perfect for reading on cold, stormy November evenings.
The book club is open to all paid subscribers to the Everyday Knitter community and we gather in the weekly chat threads to discuss our progress and our thoughts on the book as we work our way through it at our own pace.
I started reading it this morning and just finished.
I see my copy has Reading Group questions - these may be useful for discussion points.
