I really struggle with audio books (unless they are biography types and I'm doing a lot of motorway driving). My brain just can't hang on to the words otherwise and I zone out 🤣
I have found that audio books are great for sending me to sleep in a plane. Oz to UK is a long trip and I could never sleep in a plane until one trip I had seen all the movies of interest and decided to try a book. Instant sleep, and if my sleep lightened up, the sound of the voice droning on send me straight back to sleep 🤣.
Audio books definitely make me zone out. I can sometimes listen to an autobiography or a self help book when I have long drives to do but it very much depends on the narrator.
That's a shame! I listen to books in the kitchen mostly, or when decorating the house, but I totally get how you can't keep the words in your head. I can't do more than 2 things at once without making a muddle!!
I definitely relate to the change in behaviour in the heat. I can’t stand faffing about with lots of fabric, so my sweater projects tend to get pushed aside. I’ve been knitting lots of swatches instead to get ideas out of my head, which has been great since they’re small.
Thanks so much for the shout-out, that’s very kind. Keep thinking cool thoughts!
Ice cream and knitting are the only things getting me through this. Thanks for your writing and for the intro to Jonathan!
You know audio books count as reading? Just saying.... no need to miss valuable knitting (or crochet) time! 😊😅

Absolutely, things need to be small and not sit in my lap. A concept that my 6kg black cat struggles with 🤣
Wonderful writing Louise. Love!
