Have a lovely week leaf-kicking! I imagine it’ll be tough for your elder son seeing family traditions continue without him - I remember that being an odd feeling.
Say hello to the Lakes for me. Up round Keswick at this time of year was always a favourite of mine but it’s all lovely. Have a great break. I hear there’s likely to be a KAL for the Shirin shawl so I am buying the pattern today.
All 3 of ours have now left the nest - hard at the time, but we have adjusted and life is different but good. Having them back, whether for a day or a week, gives me great joy, but I am proud of the way they are living their own lives.
Enjoy your break, time to adjust to different experiences. We also go away in October half term, eldest is 16 and starting to complain about it, he prefers to lounge in his bed all morning. It’s a hard transition for us Mums, wanting them to grow and be independent whilst clinging on to being needed xx
Thank you for sharing about how you process your transitions through life. I am at the verge of one and your words help me a lot. Wishing you a relaxing, lovely break time. And thank you for your kind words about Shirin Shawl and the support. That's generous!
have a lovely time and adapting to change is something we all struggle with. A new chapter in your family journey which no doubt will bring you joy. Your holiday knitting projects are impressive!
The cottage holiday sounds amazing! I love that you're letting yourself feel and process all the things that come up with life's changes. That takes such courage. Blessings to you as you commune with the lakes!
Agree! It was a HUGE step for me, even though it was very gradual because our 3 children are 3 years apart. After the youngest one left, I spent months denying my "empty-nest" feelings, but it really was a major life transition. It helped me a lot once I acknowledged that.

And thank you for sharing my post ❤️

Aww have a gorgeous break, the Lakes is so beautiful right now. Give me a little wave as you pass the Clitheroe turnoff on the M6 👋
And yes to the Myrtlewood books! What a light and fun witchy read, I’m at book five I think, just had a break for The People on Platform 5.
Have a wonderful time. I hope the beautiful landscape helps processing to feel spacious and kind xx
Wishing you a relaxing break with cosy knitting and enough breaks in the weather that you get to enjoy the scenery!
Have a lovely time Louise... ✨ here’s to new adventures! ✨✨🙏
Will we be able to meet up?
Thinking of you as your young ones begin to fly from the nest... All 3 of our young adult children have flown now. It's quite a journey...❤️
Thank you. It seems like such a big step and yet hardly anyone really talks about it.
