Thank you. If you look closely you'll see that I completely stuffed up the waffle pattern by only doing 1 knit round rather than 2 but hey, at some point I might learn to read the pattern properly 😂
Oooh that decluttering item... I managed to declutter our bathroom this week helping my bloke see that he has many MANY razors and many many MANY containers of shaving cream/after shave balm etc... 🤦♀️🤣
Late happy birthday, Louise! I love that Moon Moth sweater - that might be one for later in the year. But I was also very taken with the one with Bats!!!
Happy birthday and congratulations to your son! Double celebration 🥳 I saw an advert on tv yesterday for insurance for the ‘elderly over-50s’ - those words don’t go together! How can you call someone with 17 years until retirement age elderly?
I’m glad I’m not the only one fantasy knitting! The Moon Moth is incredible. Happy birthday and congratulations to your son. It’s worse when the lady in the shop window reflection is your Nana. Trust me on this 😂. In my head I’m about thirtyish. I wish the rest of me agreed!
I got very cross reading a (recently written) novel in which characters in their early to mid sixties were repeatedly referred to as 'elderly'. I reached 60 this summer and still find it faintly hilarious that I'm being offered free prescriptions and concessionary tickets (I still take them though, obviously, thank you very much!).
Re: decluttering. I definitely have a scarcity mindset, inherited from my parents who lived through the war. Similar to the 20/20 rule mentioned in the article, I created my own '200 mile' rule when I started decluttering in anticipation of a house move which never happened. I decided that if something got left behind, then if I would neither drive back the 200 miles to get it (sentimental/precious) or buy a replacement (necessary/useful) then out it went. Sadly I'd only got as far as decluttering the kitchen (a lot of Lakeland gadgets went) before the move was called off, and I haven't been able to trick myself into using the rule since when I know it's not real.
I can totally relate to the surprise of what I see in the mirror..."grey hair?? What?!" I'm 63 & happy to still do my "weird Barbie" thing if I feel like it! And I love my young adult kids for supporting my weird Barbie vibe. They're adorable ❤️
That waffle stitch is so lush! I don’t actually need any more hats but that pattern is really tempting me now. Happy belated birthday!

hahah - well, good to know that even with imperfections it’s still an excellent stitch pattern!
That moon moth jumper is gorgeous!
Oh and happy belated birthday 🎂☀️
Thank you, and yes - in fact all the sweaters from the designer were really tempting

Oh absolutely. Our bathroom is much the same

I think all of that designer's sweaters are beautiful. Imagine a handmade wardrobe full of them 🩷🩷🩷
Congratulations to your son (and you) ❤️
Thank you. Huge sighs of relief all round

This week went by fast for me as well. I got a good bit of knitting in, but there were some unexpected occurrences and not all good ones.

And big congrats to your son! So wonderful when they achieve what they're aiming for in their studies
