It’s been a week of very little knitting this week as I managed to drop our sharpest heaviest knife on the middle finger of my dominant hand at the weekend. Luckily my husband is a whizz at first aid (after a long rugby career and being dad to our two boys for 18 years). There’s very little he can’t do with a few steri-strips and a lot of gauze pads so I was spared a trip to the minor injuries unit. It did mean that I had to spend two days with my finger splinted so I couldn’t bend it - making knitting impossible.
I write in solidarity with you! I’ve been trying to ignore what I suspect is rsi on my right hand for several months. When I started waking up with my hand hurting I decided I had to do something, so my hand and wrist are in a supporting splint. I cannot knit! I’m hoping that a week or so of immobility will sort it out.
Sounds painful, hope you are healing quickly. I love the idea of reminding oneself that something might not always be available, can make the passion come back.
