Well, it’s true.
I know I am a great advocate of multitasking. Knitting and reading together is fair game, similarly knitting while watching a film or at the cinema is a valid option.
But not even I can master the art of scrolling on my phone and knitting at the same time. If it was possible I am sure I would have had a go by now.
Reminding myself to put my phone down and pick my knitting up is proving remarkably helpful in curbing my social media habits. And telling myself to ‘just knit for 5 minutes’ whenever I instinctively reach for my phone is yielding results in my knitting progress as well - who knew? 🤣
I know we all go through phases in our knitting lives but for me I am very much in a planning and seeking inspiration mood at the minute.
I’m not a big Pinterest user - I know some people who are huge fans - but I have never really used it much in earnest. But recently I have been having fun creating my own giant inspiration board. I may have gone a bit pin happy but it is a great way to play with new ideas and inspirations.
Do you use Pinterest? You can find me here if you are interested - do say hi if you are passing.
Knitters on Substack
I have also been browsing here on Substack for more yarny types and I love that every time I do this I find many more accounts to follow. Substack is definitely not just for writers and journalists any more - so many more online creatives are finding their voice here too.
There are more than my usual Friday five here but I wanted to give a shout out to as many of them as possible.
Do pop over and check out their pages. There are quite a few here so don’t try to do them all at once. Why not bookmark this post and pop back in next time you want to relax with a coffee.

I hope you have a peaceful and restful weekend - all power to your needles ( and pssst….put your phone down)
You are absolutely right! And great idea to pick up the needles instead of picking up the phone - I need to do it more often, too. Thanks for the list of knitters to check out! :)
I love the colours you’ve used for your socks - they go so well together!
