One of the advantages of being a paid member of the Everyday Knitter community is our monthly, low-stress book club. We have had a little break for the summer but we are gearing up again for some quality bookworm time as the seasons change and we look forward to more time under a blanket.
If you’d like to join us and to vote on what we are reading this month please do tap the button - it would be lovely to welcome you in.
As the days get shorter here and we start to look forward to all things cosy it seems like a good time to dust off our monthly book club. Hopefully you have had enough time since our Summer of Books and Yarn to finish your summer reading.
I’ve just started a cosy readalong with another group, reading the Lord of the Rings series - I don’t know about you but autumn always makes me think it would be nice to be a Hobbit and to retreat from the outside world with plenty of snacks and a cosy fire.
In no particular order here are a couple of books I thought might suit.
The Last of the Moon Girls by Barbara Davies - this has been on my list for ages. I’m a huge fan of Barbara Davies and her cosy brand of mystery and strong female characters always makes for a good read.
The Fellowship of the Ring by Tolkein - well, I’m reading it anyway and it never hurts to ask 🤣
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore - with a title like that I couldn’t really resist popping it on the list.
Which one would you pick?
I’ll leave the poll open for a couple of days to give everyone chance to see it and have a vote.
I picked the Last of the Moon Girls, but I also bought the Pumpkin Spice Cafe. I'm not a Pumpkin Spice fan, but this looked like a fun read. I count on this list to suggest books that I wouldn't find for myself, but would be fun to read.
I also picked the Last of the Moons Girls . I’ve just read the Fellowship again, and am also doing the War and Peace read along, must have my reading mojo back😊
