We have a relatively new Sainsbury's supermarket on the edge of our small market town. Before the supermarket was built, Frank, a Maine Coon cat, used to hunt in the field. He has a loving home but being a creature of habit, spends his days where he always has, it just happens to be a supermaket now.
He has a little house outside where the staff send him for hygeine reasons but, especially at this time of the year, he takes every opportinity he can to pop inside in the warm - often recorded in his Facebook account!
There is currently a Christmas tree in the entrance of the shop with some gift wrapped boxes underneath. I popped in this morning for some veg - and there was Frank, fast asleep on a box under the tree!
Oh wow, that's fascinating. They are such creatures of habit aren't they. My son was telling me about the Campus Cat they have at his Uni. It has a real home but likes to hang out on campus during the day to be adored by all the students and staff - so much so that the Uni shop now has a range of 'merch' with the cat's photo on keyrings and bags
What a delight to read. I am now following Budge on Insta, OBVIOUSLY.
He looks like such a character - I’m really invested in what he’s up to now.
A lovely story- I wonder if he does a bit of mousing there to pay for his lodging!

Such a delightful story, and somehow in my mind, quintessentially English. Have a lovely day.
