I can knit, crochet (simple patterns), sew and I would love to get back into embroidery. All skills taught by my mum and both nans. But I would love to sing and play a musical instrument. Oh and draw and paint. But then I remember a lady in my WI who is a great paper crafter and has painted her own decorative plates but said a shawl pattern I'd knitted was beyond her. We all have our talents and in the end there's only 24 hours in a day lol!
I’d love to be able to draw so it’s on my ‘to have a go’ list. About 6 years ago I bought a digital piano (so I can practice with headphones on). I have no musical talent and a limited sense of rhythm but have been learning via various teachers and apps over the last 6 years. I’m still on the really basic levels but it’s a great switch off from work. I think of it as my dementia prevention hobby because it uses so much of my brain. I’ll never be great and possibly not even good but I do enjoy it.
Well I would really love to be able to paint. To be able to create something I find beautiful with gouache or oils and a brush. I think that can be another endeavour where isn’t always easy to get results that satisfy the artist though. Also as I can draw (a little) maybe it’s something I could realistically at least attempt. If I went for something where I have no skill whatsoever it would be to play the piano. To read, understand and hear (I’m tone deaf too) music properly - that must be amazing!
I wish I could draw. Maybe if I practiced I'd get better, but the poor hen I tried to capture looks more like an absurd turkey in my sketchbook. She seems happy enough, though. I think ill stick to knitting as a creative outlet!
I'd love to be able to sing. I mean really sing. To open my mouth and have something like the sounds of Maria Callas at her best, or Dame Janet Baker come out. I think that would be so wonderful. When I hear someone singing opera I am always mesmerised by the notion that that sound comes from inside them, and envious that I can't do it.
I write children's nonfiction and always joke that if that fails as a vocation, I'll be a knitter. I would starve because I am so very slow but I do love it.
If I was not a knitter I would be a woodworker. I love to build things, love the smell of wood, and enjoy working with my hands. Wood comes in so many different colors and can be transformed into beautiful finished objects.
An axe murderer lol crafting keeps me sane and keeps my mouth from running off as I'm busy counting !

Oh so true, if only we could do all the things

I also spin, weave, and crochet, and I do native plant gardening, and photography. Which one dominates changes with time.
Jack of all trades master of none.
I would probably crochet, embroider, and needlepoint.
I would most likely embroider. I do a bit now but knitting is where I find my happy place
Oh, I used to embroider a bit when I was very young. Then I also got into tapestry

Something in textiles, my first love, I love everything from fabric painting, to knotting, so much to wander through.
A lady in our village does the most beautiful silk scarf painting. I'm always in awe
I crochet, read and do puzzles. Love them all
I saw the title and answered “in the abyss”! Then read the text. Painting please, fairy godparent xxx
My husband and son are both talented painters - my son definitely got the artistic gene from my husband's side of the family
My daughter is the painter, she’s brilliant.

I’m an artist as well as a knitter and I couldn’t give up either. If I had more time, I’d love to write fiction.

Oh absolutely, it must be such an amazing talent to have.
