A book in hand, warm pastry and fog outside sounds so perfect. 😍I am waiting for some colder days too, but there is a heatwave right now, apparently last of the season. And Thank you for mentioning Almas mitts. 🤗🤍
I’m sitting in the milky sunshine of an October day on the edge of Liverpool. I’m getting myself ready to catch the bus into the city centre to donate an armful of O- in the permanent centre near the Passport Office. Every 4 months this is my routine and I love it how they now tell you where your blood goes. Even though I live in Liverpool, 6 miles from the centre, we’re near farmland and the grounds of a grand hall, former home of the Earl of Derby, now owned by the city council. As a result, we’re surrounded by wildlife and mists roll in from the fields. The resident lark has gone to warmer climes and hopefully will bring spring back with him or her in February. Yesterday I planted up 4 pots of bulb ‘lasagnes’ in readiness for 2025. If I’m knitting socks then that usually comes with me on the bus but my project later today is reminding myself of provisional cast on without a crochet hook (left-handed & I’m averse to crochet)so Kindle it is.
I’m sitting with a lovely mug of Earl Grey contemplating the day and the fact I’m meeting up with the women of the family on Wirral tomorrow (because, although most people will be coming up from the Midlands I’m organising it!) an awesome bunch of strong women - from my 80 yr old sister to my 6 month old great niece - intimidating for the feint of heart but we will laugh a lot! My daughters will travel over from York. My sister is the matriarch. She is a guerilla gardener & goes out late at night with friends to plant in council borders. She swims 50 lengths a day so stop thinking little old lady!

Sending cool weather thoughts your way.
And you are very welcome. The mitts are just fabulous
I just finished knitting the Ten Lords-a-leaping for a Christmas display.
Oh I am so looking forward to reading Laura’s book! I expect to find a lot of magic ✨
Her writing is just wonderfully evocative
Thank you! I've brought some knitting with me too, of course 🙂
Watching the sun rise in misty French countryside from the train on my way to Mediterranean for a long weekend with friends. Life is good.
Oh, that does sound delightful. Have a lovely weekend

Time to get my bus. Where have I put my bus pass?
There is nothing better than a cuppa and a book, especially on a misty morning! Also 👋🏻 from north Essex/Suffolk border 😊
The Almas Mitts are gorgeous!
Ohhh, I love this! Thank you Louise! So glad the fog found you 🌫️📖
I’m galloping through the book. It really is a captivating read.
