Yesterday I just sat and knit on a plain sock for 10 minutes. Nothing earth-shattering in that you might think.

But when I stopped and really thought about what I had been doing in the past few days I realised that for that 10 minutes, it was probably the longest I had gone without reaching for my phone, thinking about work or trying to do something else at the same time (like stir the soup for dinner, phone my mum or mentally plan my shopping list).

In fact I even did a discussion post the other day about reading and knitting at the same time.

For me the answer is yes (also at the cinema) with the proviso that the knitting is simple and the book not too strenuous.
