I have a corner of the kitchen with my very comfy armchair and a basket with my projects stuffed inside. It looks out on the garden and sat with my feet up on the round stool, I can sometimes rest my feet on if my cat doesn’t beat me to it, I am at home.

In our old UK house I used to sit in the corner of the sofa across from the TV. I was like Sheldon. I had my seat and woe be tide anyone who said in *my* spot. Then when we moved to our first Danish apartment again. I had my spot (corner of the sofa in the lounge. Could watch the kids play while I knitted/crocheted). When we moved to our second and now our current apartment I often end up sat at the kitchen table or my desk. Our sofa is no longer the most comfortable spot in the apartment. (We have sofa bed thing now and as much as I’d like to trade it in for a nice Ikea Ektorp sofa like we had in the UK, it still does it’s job so doesn’t need to be replaced right now). Sometimes I sit in bed but then the temptation is to snuggle down against the Danish winter and sometimes involves an accidental nap… oops!

I work from home, and when I setup my home office, I used 2 desks in an L shape, so that one is for work, and the other one is for crafting. I also bought a wonderful locker type armoire from ikea that holds all my crafting goodies. I decorated the walls with some of my artworks, and inspiration quotes I find in Uppercase Magazine. Above my craft desk is a corkboard full of quotes and tidbits, so inspiring!

I am lucky enough to have an entire room ,but somehow it fails to be anything but a dumping ground for things. It has the best view of the garden too. I tend to like having a tv on in the background and there isn’t one. Also it doesn’t have a comfy chair. Maybe I need to create a second living room but for crafting, or is that silly?

Nope not silly at all. You need a comfy chair of some kind to sit in when you knit or crochet. Otherwise you hold yourself funny and then can do yourself mischief. If you have the space anyway, why not make it cosy and comfy? We have a spare room at the moment and we’re talking about getting a lodger. I had tried to convinced my husband that it should be my craft room/office. Then all my yarn and scrapbooking stuff would be away and not making a mess elsewhere. He said no unless I could cover the β€œrent” and earn some money from my crafts 🀣🀣

Hmmm…..there is a Dad on Instagram who models his daughters crocheting, is your husband willing to do the same? All in the interest of sales of course!

Hehe maybe I should get him to do a Sean. Sara (crochet_in_the_glen on IG) often has her husband Sean help to model her creations. He can be very silly in some of the reels and definitely reminds me a lot of my Dad.

Maybe I need to see if my husband will model for me. I think he’d say he’d look silly. I am working on a jumper for him though so maybe he will entertain the thought for that one lol.

Oddly enough, my cosy corner is on the floor in my room. I usually sit on a spare yoga mat with my little table and water bottle. The view outside is so calming, it helps me think.

I have one side of the couch as a nest. Sistwerp has the other. The untidy looking corner of large tote bags of yarn and in-progress projects is my territory. The untidy corner marked by haphazardly stacked clear thin plastic organizers marks hers. Together we watch movies and tv shows or listen to music, me knitting or crocheting and her stringing her beads. There are usually two cats, sometimes all three, present in the room whether in the broken recliner (it no longer reclines) or in the no woman's land between our crafty duo on the couch. The arrangement suits our five household members quite nicely if the purring from the recliner is any indication.

This is making me think! I work remotely at home, so I am lucky enough to have an office (my kids are also grown, so more space!) This office, doubles as my crafting space, but it is more of a working space than a crafting space. It is set up as a studio, with embroidery displayed, my yarn displayed - the colors are so beautiful, it feels like decor! But I don't find myself crafting there, unless I am in between appointments. I have a spot on my sectional where I sit and knit, or crochet - I've even started my visual journal out there as well - it's cozy. It's where my husband is and where we have coffee and where we will spend the evening. BUT, what I am realizing is that I could make this space more intentional! It's usually just so full of yarn and can look messy - a beautiful and colorful mess, but still messy - I love coming up with cool systems - so perhaps I can become more intentional in this space! I feel a post coming on! Thank you for all of this inspiration! Now I want to see all sorts of cozy spaces!

Thank you, it's quite addictive once you get going. I've found myself thinking about maybe adding a small plant or something flowers.

I’m going to get one soon! Our house came with a large bonus room that we ended up divvying out into new spaces. We just finished renovating the laundry room (1/3 of the space) and are now working on building our two boys a new bedroom (2/3s of the space). Once that’s finished, I’m going to take over their old bedroom for an office/crafting room. I can’t wait! I had an office space in our old house, so I know I’m a little spoiled, but I haven’t had any space I can call mine for nearly six years now, and as an introvert in a family of extroverts, I desperately need it! πŸ˜…

My crafts are writing, cooking and baking. I am working on creating a more functional and welcoming kitchen space and it is amazing. I no longer have everything falling out of my cabinets when I try to get something or need to rummage around my drawer for the measuring spoons etc. I also have space for my recipes nearby and my laptop open to the news or other show I am watching while I chop.

First I love that pillow. I store my craft stuff in our extra guest bedroom. But enjoy sitting in an alcove that also keeps our puzzle table. Lots of sunshine and a pretty view. And my husband just upgraded the sofa to an extra firm one that helps my back.

I tend to sit at the dining room table with my laptop in front of me. As a child we never had sofa's so I am comfortable sitting on a dining room chair. But maybe I should spend maybe an hour on the sofa away from the social media. I must say I do knit or crochet in the evening whilst watching TV.

Apologize for going off topic but I’m fascinated by the clarity of this photograph. I can practically count stitches. Love your cozy corner.

I love the mitre square projects. I just get to 2-3 squares and get distracted by other projects. Maybe that needs to be one I properly try in 2025.

Oh, thank you. I was experimenting with a tripod setup. Maybe that helped?

I love the idea of ditching my mobile phone from wherever I am knitting!!

I sit on the couch and knit, crochet, or spin. My e-spinner sits on the coffee table in front of me. The table has a lower shelf with wire baskets holding my knitting project, interchangeable needles, crochet hooks, and other small tools, whatever fiber I’m spinning, extra bobbins, a lazy Kate, etc. To my right, I have a mug warmer on the end table to keep my tea hot. I have my phone so I can listen to audiobooks while I work or look up how to do a technique I can’t remember how to do. And I’ve got a weighted heating pad that fits around my neck and shoulders. It’s the perfect space!
